Sometimes there is just a person that makes you feel so good about yourself.
They make you want to be a better person.

This person can be young or old, they are just Special.

I found my someone special almost 13 years ago when I held her in my arms in her parents home kitchen.
I sat with her on the floor and spoke to her telling her how much joy she was going to bring to the people in her life, Including me.

Less then a year later I would move into that very house and would then find out how truly special this person really would be to me.

7 years I watched you grow, listened to you laugh and tell stories, cry and get scared and bug your mom to death.
I only now realize how each one of those moments are now so precious to me.

Your now almost 14 and you’ve blossomed into a young lady with out me.
I missed now 5 years of you just being you.
Missed the laughter and the stories and tears missed the good times as well as the bad…I feel bad.

We may not be blood related but your my niece none the less and no one will ever change that or tell me different.
I would go to the ends of the earth for you if it kept you safe.

I feel like along the way I lost you somehow and I can’t explain how much that really breaks my heart.
But I know at some point everyone needs to let go so that a person can grow up to be the person they are meant to be.

Your going to be great kiddo! you’ll go on to do wonderful things and make us all proud. How do I know this .. because I am auntie and I just know.

Don’t ever think that because I am not there that I don’t love you.
Just because I don’t see you does not mean I love you any less.

I am proud of you and proud of the young lady you’ve become.
