But sadly that’s not the case for some out there, I’ve said it before but I will say it again and yell it from the top of my lungs if I have to .. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN GOOGLE IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN USE IT!

I am starting to see these so called designers who don’t ever buy copyright material to use in their work they simple just take whatever they find in a search engine!
This is illegal plain and simple!

And pardon my next comment … but it’s not just their ass on the line for using it if you BUY it from them and then use it your ass is on the line too!
Yes YOU, you can be fined for using material that you have not purchased rights to use.
You can play dumb all you want, if an artists is serious they will haul your ass into court!
And if it’s a big company like music or movies or cartoons or tv your going to be in even more trouble.

Many people think they have every right to use images of actors or musician because they are in the spotlight.
INCORRECT! you can be sued not only by the photographer who took the photo but by the celebrity your using.

You can play stupid all you want the fact is if they want to sue you they are going to and there is no dumb card you can throw in a court of law, theft is theft plain and simple.

It frustrates me as someone who spends THOUSANDS of dollars to make sure the images I use are legal and spend just as much buying materials so that my mom AN ARTIST can make them!

Next time you go to buy graphics online make sure you know what it is your buying.
If you have any doubt about copyrights ask to see proof that they have permission.
If they can not provide that or can not provide the name of the artist who originally did the work then walk away.
It’s not worth getting your ass caught in a sling.
Don’t be afraid to call someone out on their theft either!
Think of the original artist and how much time, money and effort went into creating each piece.
Even photography is not free, Most photographers spend thousands on that perfect camera, and even more on lighting, props, backgrounds etc.

Think of it this way, Would you walk into a bank and rob them of their money?
No so why rob an artist of the money they earn as a living?

So I decided I would write a post giving out some ideas of just a few of the things you can do with my graphics.

Online they are great for signatures on message boards and forums or to add personal touches to emails.
Some of the graphics I make are small enough that they look great in emails!
The are also a way to give your public profiles on social networks an artistic creative touch!

Offline they can be printed out and framed as a keepsake, made into stickers for scrapkits or sticker collectors, they can also be made into magnets, cards and bookmarks and yes you can do all of those things from the comfort of your own home!

A lot of what people see is just me messing about learning new ideas and tools to use and some forget I can do custom work as well!

My mother and I started TnT Designs about 3 years ago through our mutual love of creating graphics.
We were creating our own graphics for mom’s traffic exchanges and suddenly we found that others were liking our work and commissioning us to do work for them.

My mother works with Poser a 3D program that allows you to create your own custom characters and we were able to use many of our creations within our pieces of work.

You find a business model that you like and feel confident that you can handle the process of learning and understanding how to run your new venture with hopes of success.
At first you stumble and make mistakes, but with all new jobs you can’t always get it on the first try but your willing to listen to others who have the same type of business model as you and learn the in’s and outs.

Years later your not one of the “big” ones but your known and respected and at this same time many many many others have attempted to follow in your footsteps and they too want to make money online.
BUT they want to make it quicker and faster and easier, And they are forgetting to learn the vital steps it takes to run this business model successfully.

They start making the biggest mistake of all, Not listening to advice given to them. You know yourself from experience that this is one of the keys to success.
They’ve done no research and jump in head first and just want money money to come flowing in.
And in doing it this way their business may gain minor success at first but it ends up only being a matter of time before it backfires in their faces.

Take the Traffic Exchange business model for example.
My mother started her first traffic exchange 6 years ago, and made many mistakes in the beginning but she was willing to listen and learn from others and began to really understand how to present herself and her exchange to others.
She’s become well respected and known with in the traffic exchange community.
She’s not one of the huge exchanges and every penny she makes goes right back into her traffic exchanges but she has managed to stick around for 6 years which is longer then a lot of others.

Now however the traffic exchange model people see as easy money, a quick and fast way to cash in and make that easy dollar without doing any of the research to make it a long lasting success.
Each day 10 more new traffic exchanges are popping up and out of those 10 new ones per day 1 will most likely have the longevity that people like my mother have had.
They tend to lack even the most basic knowledge of how the traffic exchange should be run.
A wise friend of mine once said about running a traffic exchange that your credits are like your cash, If your credits go into the negative it means your overdrawn and in trouble.
My wise friend Thom taught me and my mother about controlling the intake and out put of credits to make sure our bank is never sinking.
Thom has on many occasions attempted to teach others this cardinal rule but most of the time his lessons fall on deaf ears.

So now I pose the question, with each new traffic exchange that pops up with out knowing much of anything, offering enormous amounts of credits and such low prices for upgrades or credit package purchases knowing they can not deliver on the intake and out put of credits make other traffic exchanges look bad?

Are people more likely to join a site based on “how much” they get or are people smart enough to know that this is a new exchange with less then 100 members and to offer 10,000 credits with an upgrade means you will have credits forever and will never need to surf again.

Don’t get me wrong surfing can be pretty darn BORING but have we forgotten that the purpose of a traffic exchange is to EXCHANGE traffic?
Meaning I view your site and you view mine.
I put my stuff on your site with the hopes of gaining sign ups or sales.
People put their trust in a traffic exchange owner that they as the owner are going to be able to deliver that traffic and to real people not to cheaters/bots or to a friend who you get to surf for you!
If I am PAYING you, do your job!
If I am a free member, know I work EXTRA hard to earn those credits and I do NOT wish to have them pissed down the drain by people who are not really there to LOOK at what I have to offer.

These are things I do not think people consider when they join a traffic exchange.
They see a big flashy “YOU WON THIS” or “GET 1000 FREE SIGN UP CREDITS” and fail to look at anything else.
If a site is brand new and offers each new member 1000 free sign up credits how will my credits ever really move?
This means I will sit with a lot of credits in my account, not have to surf and become a totally useless member to you.
Your goal and business model you chose is to make me an active member of your site, not just get me to sign up for the numbers game. Numbers count but only when it’s ACTIVE numbers.

There are many who surf the big exchanges and become exhausted with the time they have to spend keeping credits there. Why? This is a GOOD thing! it means that exchange is doing what it’s suppose to be doing.
A lot of people do not even know how to work a traffic exchange when they sign up and dump all their credits on their site and are upset when 2 days later those credits are gone.
Check a site, see how it’s set up. Most of the time you can control how much and how often your site is seen on that exchange. If not then take the time to pause an URL and build up some credits or watch for special deals on credit packages and grab one when you see it.
The traffic exchange industry is a good one when used properly and correctly.

DON’T jump onto every new bandwagon out there, if it looks to good to be true it most likely is!
Be smart about which traffic exchanges you join, If it’s new and offers WAY to many credits then maybe its best you move to another one because the owner of that exchange has NOT done their homework and that site will NOT be able to deliver what it says it can.
Also check contest pages and forums about exchanges, you can get lists of cheaters quite easy and if the exchange your a member of has a lot of these cheaters listed get the heck outta there because your credits are just being pissed away and all your hard work is for NOTHING!

Never be afraid to ask advice, just be prepared to listen and learn.

It’s hard for me to understand how it is that when a person does the “right” thing it ends up being held against them, Used to make them out to be the “bad” guy.

Now for some this may not even bother them, Knowing they did the right thing and sticking to their guns is all they need to keep in mind to know they’re right and the others have no right to put them in that position but for some the blow back of being a “good” person made to be the bad guy can become a little too much.

Recently my mother and I defended a friend who’d been taken advantage of, We stood by her and told the world how this person had been a poor business man and ripped off one of our friends.
We we’re doing the “right” thing, Because people like this guy have NO place in online business world.
They are parasites who feed off greed and suck the life forces from those who are good.
They make real hard working marketers look bad!

Little did we know this was going to blow back into our faces HARD! .. I expected some fall out I am not that stupid.
But what transpired next left me with my jaw hanging open, my eyes bugged out and my heart aching because someone I care for deeply got hurt.

My mother is the owner of Ace Biz Traffic – www.acebiztraffic.com and she’s been doing this for MANY years.
She started off as such a newbie, But really has come into her own and is making Ace Biz Traffic a truly remarkable traffic exchange to be a part of.
She’s always looking for new ways to give her members something MORE.
But what she covets more then anything is respect and she’s worked long and hard to gain and earn the respect of this industry as well as her members.
So when the backlash hit her and her site she was stunned, Not only stunned but hurt.
Hurt that years of experience had been flipped right out the window as she did what she knew was right.

When it happened to me and Water’s Edge Hits I could have cared less, I knew these were people I didn’t want on my site if they planned to stand by this person so if they needed to leave then so be it, No skin off my butt!
But my mother took it a little different and she allowed it to get under her skin.
No matter how much I tried to tell her that they were not worth it she just couldn’t understand how doing the right thing cause her and her site trouble.

Sadly the way of the world, Some jack asses have bigger gangs and when they “gang” up on people the fall out can be more then anticipated.
And a gang up is just what happened, They came out guns drawn looking for a show down and my mom didn’t back down or give in to their ridiculous demands and for that she paid a price.
To me not a big price because like I said these are losers we don’t need on our sites.
But she’d worked so hard to earn and gain respect and she felt like in the snap of the fingers it was gone.

Karma is a bitch though people, and in the words of the ever awesome Justin Timberlake “What Goes Around, Comes Around” and karma will snap it’s teeth and bite you straight on your ass.
And when it’s all said and done and the smoke finally clears my mom will still be able to stand tall and know she and I did the right thing and that your still a jack ass.
